Why is it a Problem?

Video cassettes have been replaced by DVD’s and other improving technologies. This has resulted in thousands of unwanted tapes being taken to landfills which are polluting our environment.

If you still have a video tape player, a good way to help the environment is to give your unwanted videos away rather than throw them in the bin. You could give them to a friend or to a charity shop.

If you wish to buy different films to watch on video, good places to look are in charity shops or on websites such as Amazon.co.uk and ebay.co.uk.

Some nurseries and schools may take used video tapes if they are appropriate and suitable for their needs.
